Alan Geddis

Director (BPP Ltd.)

CEng, MICIBSE, LCEA, Non-Domestic BER Assessor, Passive House Designer


Alan joined Caldwell in 1996 as a Mechanical Engineer becoming an Associate in 2003 and Associate Director in 2010. His passion and interest in energy conservation and sustainability led to starting BPP in 2016.

From the early 2000’s Alan has been a sustainability focused engineer as a Chartered Engineer and CIBSE Member also holding accredited CIBSE low carbon energy consultant and CIBSE Level 5 low carbon energy assessor status. These are complimented with New Construction Domestic Energy Assessor status registered with Elmhurst.

He has established a progressive platform in the tools of dynamic simulation, visualisation and the prediction of building performance. Wider sustainability issues are also important, and Alan has been involved with the BRE from the mid 2000’s when he registered as a BREEAM Assessor quickly expanding this to include being a BRE Academy member, BREEAM AP, Home Quality Mark (HQM) Assessor, as well as Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM International Assessor. Alan qualified as a Passive House Designer in September 2021.

His considerable experience ranging from initial liaison with clients to delivery of cost effective and innovative projects of all sizes. Alan’s focus within the company is to promote innovative and sustainable solutions working with the whole design team.

Amanda Dalzell

Director of Sustainability (BPP Ltd.)

BRE Qualified BREEAM Assessor


Amanda joined Caldwell in 1999 and gained vast experience in client liaison. Transitioning to BPP in 2016 as a BREEAM Assessor, she was appointed Associate in 2018, before being appointed as Associate Director in 2022.

Amanda is a registered BREEAM Assessor and BRE Academy member, qualifying in 2011. She can submit assessments under New Construction 2008, 2011, 2014 & 2018, as well as Home Quality Mark, Non-Domestic & Domestic Refurbishment schemes covering hotels, offices, apartments, schools, and student accommodations.

She was also the first person in Northern Ireland to gain qualification in BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment scheme.

Projects that Amanda has worked on throughout the UK and Ireland have achieved BREEAM ratings of ‘Good’, ‘Very Good’ and ‘Excellent’. She has a strong background in liaising with clients and providing consultancy advice for various projects in sustainability approach methods under BREEAM.

Alison Shearer

Associate (BPP Ltd.)

BSc (Hons)


Alison attended Liverpool John Moores University, studying Computer Animation & Visualisation, she graduated in 2015. Previously working seasonally within the Caldwell Group, she joined BPP in April 2017, before being appointed Associate in April 2023 to provide management support and progress BIM interoperability.

Alison plays a vital role constructing detailed energy-centric Revit models from pre-planning to handover stages and has extensive experience working in a range of project sectors including office, retail, and hotel for UK & Ireland. She specialises in complex fast-build projects, such as planning applications. Alongside BIM geometry modelling, Alison utilises Revit to carry out daylighting calculations.

Working with Revit geometry creation for IESVE gbXML integration, Alison has a wealth of knowledge in both modelling platforms. She also uses Dynamo visual programming to advance in-house workflows and project efficiency.

Since 2019, Alison has headed up BPP content, communication, and services marketing, as well as website design and implementation.

Notable projects include: The Dixon Tower Bridge, a £32.5 million Grade II Listed 5* Marriott hotel in London SE1. Horizon Heights, a £55 million 22-storey Unite Student accommodation in Liverpool. Queen Elizabeth House, New Waverley Phase 2, a £47 million c.200,000 sq. ft. office development in the heart of Edinburgh. North Wharf Gardens, a £86 million mixed-use development comprising of hotel, aparthotel and provision for education located in London W2.

Aine Murray

Senior Sustainability Engineer

BEng (Hons), MSc, OCDEA, LCC, LCEA, AMEI


Aine graduated from Queens University with an MSc in Environmental Engineering in 2018, she joined BPP the same year with prior experience of solar panels.

Aine specialises in domestic energy assessments, and has extensive experience in large-scale multi-use developments, using her expertise to ensure reduced energy consumption and sustainability are at the heart of each project. In August 2019 she qualified as a On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) before qualifying as a Low Carbon Energy Assessor (LCEA) in September 2022. She is an accredited member of Elmhurst Energy's U-Value and Overheating Competency Scheme, and capable of providing detailed U-Value calculations or TM59 Approved Document O Analysis if required.

In 2023, Aine completed the Elmhurst & Trisco Thermal Bridge Assessment and Condensation Analysis scheme, allowing her to assess thermal bridging as well as provide information regarding condensation on a project.

Aine is an associate member of the Energy Institute and has been part of the Northern Ireland Energy Institute Committee since July 2022, acting in the role of secretary. In 2024 she was named as part of the 2024/25 cohort for the 30 under 30 Northern Ireland Climate Change-Makers.

Notable projects include: South West Lands, Phases 1 and 2, a £186 million 741-apartment development, majority achieving an EPC A rating. Everards Printworks, a £35 million mixed-use development consisting of an EPC A rated 255-bed hotel, 16 bespoke apartments and 5 flexible retail spaces, located in Bristol. Exchange Square Phase 02, a £92 million development comprised of 375 apartments, a 235-bed Premier Inn and retail units achieving an EPC A rating. Greenwich Millennium Village Plot 301, a £41.5 million 135-unit apartment development which achieved Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4.

Mark Clements

Senior Sustainability Engineer

MA, BRE Qualified BREEAM Assessor, BREEAM AP


Studying Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Dundee, Mark graduated in 2019. Having demonstrated a keen interest in sustainability and the role which BREEAM plays in sustainable assessments, he joined BPP in August 2021.

Working in tandem with Amanda, he has extensive experience on all aspects of BREEAM New Construction assessments and is a pivotal member of the team. Mark qualified as a BREEAM Assessor in 2022, and as a BREEAM AP in 2023. He can submit assessments under New Construction 2008, 2011, 2014 & 2018. Mark specialises in client liaison, striving to ensure there is consistent support and guidance for clients for the duration of every project.

Mark also plays an integral part of BPP’s Life Cycle Assessment team and carries out Whole Life Caron Assessments when required for BREEAM, GLA Planning Reports & Whole Life Tracking throughout the construction programme.

Notable projects include: North Wharf Gardens, a £86 million mixed-use development comprising of hotel, aparthotel and provision for education achieving BREEAM ‘Excellent’, located in London W2. Lost Property, Curio Collection by Hilton a £38 million 4* hotel achieving BREEAM ‘Excellent’, located near St. Paul’s Cathedral, London. Palmerston Court, an extensive mixed-used development comprised of an 832-bed Purpose-Built Student Accommodation, with 3,800m2 Cat-A Office provision and 3,345m2 Enterprise Space targeting BREEAM ‘Outstanding’, located near Battersea Power Station. Sunday Mills, a £36 million co-living development consisting of 315 co-living homes achieving BREEAM ‘Excellent’, located in London.

Louise Wray

Sustainability Engineer

BSc (Hons), MSc, LCEA, LCC


Showing a keen interest in sustainability, Louise first joined BPP as a placement student in 2017. Upon completion of her degree from Ulster University in 2019, she re-joined the team and has become a pivotal member.

Louise has wide-ranging experience of non-Domestic assessments, including office, student accommodation, hotel, and retail for UK & Ireland. She specialises in hotels and large-scale student accommodations, working within the IESVE platform. Studying part-time for an MSc in Environmental Engineering from Queens University, Louise graduated in 2022.  

Championing the drive for sustainability on every project she works on, Louise also plays a key role for operational energy assessments. Qualifying as a Low Carbon Consultant in 2022, she prides herself on her ability to work across all stages of a project’s lifecycle, ensuring the highest standard from planning applications to handover and every stage between. Qualifying as a Low Carbon Energy Assessor (LCEA) in 2023, Louise is capable of carrying out Level 3, 4 and 5 Dynamic Simulation assessments.

Notable projects include: The Ewart, a £55 million grade A office development in Belfast. Fairmont Windsor Park, a £40 million 5* hotel in Surrey. Devenish College, a £21.5 million 800-pupil school in Enniskillen. Sunday Mills, a £36 million co-living development in Earlsfield. Cannon Park, a £77 million 780-bed Vita Student accommodation in Coventry.

Vibhuti Bhambri

Sustainability Engineer

BArch, MSc


Vibhuti obtained an MSc in Leadership for Sustainable Development from Queens University Belfast in 2023. She is passionate about championing positive environmental and social changes and joined BPP in late 2023.

Having demonstrated an understanding of sustainable construction methodologies, she forms part of the BREEAM team, enjoying engaging actively with projects and clients.

As well as her crucial assistance with BREEAM, Vibhuti also supports Mark by undertaking LCA Assessments on a range of projects.

Ryan Magee

Sustainability Engineer

BTEC, BA, MSc


Studying French & Geography at Ulster University with an international academic year, Ryan developed an interest in environmental approaches and utilities having experienced European and UK utility styles. Upon graduating, he worked across several utilities in Northern Ireland which gave an insight to sustainability engineering. Ryan returned to university in 2021, studying Leadership for Sustainable Development at Queens University.

Having previous understanding and experience of BREEAM Assessments as well as Carbon Literacy Project Certification, Ryan joined the team in 2024. He has extensive experience of working on-site and enjoys the process of design to practical completion. Ryan has demonstrated a keen interest in actively engaging with projects and delivering a hands-on approach. Working alongside Amanda and Mark, Ryan is developing his BREEAM skill base as a proactive member of the team.

Barry Bannon

Sustainability Engineer

BSc (Hons), MSc, PGCert


Barry developed an interest in engineering and construction while studying air pollution and predictive modelling as part of his Software Development (Date Science) MSc at Queens University in 2021.  Continuing in education, he studied Hydrogen Energy Systems at Queens in 2022.

Barry joined the BPP team in 2024 to assist with the implementation and maintenance of digital twin and IESVE iScan data analysis projects. Utilising his analytical data-driven background, Barry is keen to assist in IESVE workflow using Python scripting. Working alongside Alan, he is eager to gain experience of non-Domestic assessments for both UK & Ireland, as well as engage with clients regarding energy consumption and reduction.

Max Harrington

Sustainability Engineer

BSc (Hons)


With an interest in sustainability, Max joined BPP in 2022 as a placement student. Quickly demonstrating an aptitude for critical thinking and an ability to adapt to a range of projects including Offices, Hotels and Student Accommodations, Max became an indispensable part of the team. Max returned to Ulster University, graduating in with a BSc in Energy in 2024, before rejoining the team.

Max specialises in bridging the gap between complex and clean model geometry construction, and the implementation of simulations for energy assessments. Working Alongside Alison, he enjoys the challenge of modelling at a fast pace with high accuracy level, while still gaining experience in both Revit and IESVE platforms.

Abdelkareem Darwish

Placement Sustainability Engineer


Demonstrating a keen interest in gaining more experience of sustainable developments and the role they can play in creating a more sustainable planet, Abdelkareem joined BPP as a Placement Sustainability Engineer in Summer 2024.  

Working closely to Alan, Abdelkareem is actively engaging in Passivehaus assessments, enjoying the learning curve of the Passivehaus Standard while also dealing with various projects within the IESVE platform.

Clare Rogan

Sustainability Engineer

BSc (Hons)


Graduating from Ulster University in May 2024 with a BSc in Environmental Science, Clare joined BPP in August 2024 as a Graduate Sustainability Engineer.

Having worked within Civil Engineering on her placement, Clare gained initial insight into sustainability engineering and displayed keen interest in working within this sector of the built environment. Clare is working alongside Aine to assist in both domestic and non-domestic energy assessments, gaining experience in TM59 assessments.

Luke Speirs

Sustainability Engineer

BSc (Hons), BRE Qualified BREEAM Assessor


Holding a BSc (Hons) degree in Environmental Management from Glasgow Caledonian University, Luke joined BPP in September 2024. As a fully qualified BREEAM Assessor, Luke joined the BREEAM team to further strengthen BPP’s BREEAM delivery. He has invaluable experience of working in supporting roles as a part of a wider SHESQ team in the energy & construction sector and has a drive for helping clients achieve sustainable design targets.

Living in Glasgow and forming part of the new BPP distributed BREEAM team, Luke works alongside Amanda and Mark to ensure BREEAM client liaison and project delivery is consistent, supportive and concise for the duration of each BREEAM Assessment, engaging actively with clients.

Ewan McVitty

Sustainability Engineer

BSc (Hons)


Studying Environmental Science, Ewan graduated from Ulster University in May 2024, before joining BPP in August 2024 as a Graduate Sustainability Engineer.

Having a long-standing interest in sustainable policy as well as demonstrated a keen desire to gain experience of built environment sustainability, Ewan is working alongside Aine to assist in both domestic and non-domestic energy assessments ranging from large PBSA developments to extensive apartment blocks.
